Nepal promotes tourism and business potential at networking event in Bahrain

Embassy of Nepal hosts successful promotional event in Manama to boost tourism, investment, and bilateral ties
KATHMANDU: In a vibrant effort to promote Nepal’s tourism and investment prospects, the Embassy of Nepal in Manama, Bahrain, organized a “Nepal Tourism and Business Networking Event” on 13 July 2025 at the Crowne Plaza, Manama.
The event brought together government officials, business leaders, tour operators, investors, journalists, and Nepali well-wishers to explore deeper economic and tourism ties between Nepal and Bahrain.
Ambassador Tirtha Raj Wagle, in his welcome address, emphasized the untapped opportunities for collaboration between the two countries. He proposed the creation of a Nepal-Bahrain Business and Friendship Forum and highlighted Nepal’s growing popularity among Gulf-region travelers. Stressing the need for improved air connectivity, he underscored Nepal’s diverse tourism offerings, from adventure and culture to trade and investment opportunities.
Deputy Chief of Mission Sujana Aryal presented on Nepal’s tourism potential and investment climate, sharing key contacts for those interested in pursuing opportunities.
The event featured displays of traditional Nepali musical instruments, woodcrafts, and promotional materials showcasing Nepal’s attractions. Videos highlighting Nepal’s tourism, as well as Nepali products like tea, coffee, pashmina, herbs, and spices, were also played.
Distinguished guests included MP Mohamed Husain Janahi of the Bahrain Parliament, officials from the Bahrain Chamber, Bahrain Businessmen’s Association, and the Bahrain SME Society. Anju Sharma Marasini from Nepal Airlines’ Dammam office was also in attendance.
Guests received Nepali tea, brochures, and photographs promoting tourism. The evening concluded with a Nepali dinner, giving attendees a taste of Nepal’s culinary culture. The event, attended by around 100 participants, was emceed by Third Secretary Deep Raj Joshi.
