Sudurpaschim Province seeks larger hotel investments to boost tourism growth

Chief Minister Khag Raj Bhatta meets Hotel Association Nepal officials and tourism stakeholders to discuss investment, hospitality and emerging destinations

KATHMANDU: Sudurpaschim Province is looking to attract investment in larger hotels as it seeks to turn its emerging mountain, religious and wildlife attractions into major tourism destinations.

Chief Minister Khag Raj Bhatta held discussions with Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) President Binayak Shah, Treasurer Youbraj Shrestha, a newly elected HAN board member from Sudurpaschim and other tourism stakeholders at his residence on Sunday.

The meeting focused on ways to develop destinations including Saipal, Api, Badimalika, Ramaroshan, Khaptad, Shuklaphanta National Park and Tripura Sundari Temple, according to HAN.

Participants discussed the need to attract investment in new and larger hotels to support tourism growth in the province and provide better accommodation and services to both domestic and international visitors.

The discussions also covered the role of the hospitality sector and the support required from the provincial government to improve the tourism experience.

The participants stressed greater cooperation between the government and tourism stakeholders for the sustainable development of tourism in Sudurpaschim.
