KATHMANDU: Australian teenager Bianca Jane Adler has become the youngest Australian to summit Mount Everest, reaching the top of the world's highest peak this morning under fair weather conditions, according to Chhang Dawa Sherpa, Expedition Director at Seven Summit Treks.

Adler, 18, made the historic ascent on May 20, 2026, guided by Pemba Chhiring and Ngudu Sherpa.

The achievement adds to an already remarkable mountaineering record for the young climber. In 2024, at age 16, she became the youngest female to summit Manaslu — the world's eighth-highest peak. Her latest record also places her within a family of Everest summiteers: her mother, Fionna Adler, stood atop the mountain in 2006, and her father, Paul Adler, followed in 2007.

"We are truly inspired by Bianca's courage, determination, and mountaineering spirit at such a young age," Chhang Dawa said, extending congratulations to Adler and her climbing team and wishing them a safe descent to Base Camp.
