KATHMANDU: The United Sherpa Association of Colorado (USAC) has provided $30,406 to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support victims of the devastating floods that swept through the Bhotekoshi–Trishuli corridors on August 26, killing thousands of people.

Under the leadership of USAC President and social worker Lhakpa Sherpa, executive committee members and community members residing in the United States donated to the fund through USAC.

According to the association, its Nepal Flood Relief Campaign received overwhelming support from the community. “Together, through the kindness and generosity of so many wonderful people, we raised $30,406 for Nepal’s Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund,” said President Lhakpa Sherpa.

On September 14, 2026, USAC wired the full $30,406 raised through the campaign to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. The association separately covered the $40 international transfer fee, ensuring that none of the donated funds went toward that cost, according to Lhakpa.

For transparency, USAC said it is sharing the campaign record, donor list, and transfer receipt. “To everyone who donated, shared our campaign, encouraged others, or helped in any way, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness, compassion, and generosity made this possible. This campaign is now officially closed, but our care and connection with those affected continue. We will share updates as we receive information about the ongoing recovery efforts in Nepal,” the association added.
