°C French climber makes first autumn summit of Himlung Himal
KATHMANDU: A French climber has made the first summit of Himlung Himal this autumn season, reaching the 7,126-metre peak on October 22, according to expedition organiser Himalaya Summit Club.
The climber, Julien Laurence with climbing guide Sunit Gurung, reached the summit at 4pm, the club said.
Tulsing Gurung, managing director of Himalaya Summit Club, said the summit marked the first ascent of Himlung Himal during the autumn 2026 climbing season.
Himlung Himal lies in the Manaslu region of north-central Nepal and is a popular choice for climbers attempting peaks above 7,000 metres.
