Two international climbers and three Nepali Sherpas reach 8,167m summit

KATHMANDU: A five-member team from 14 Peaks Expedition successfully summited Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m) at 11:30 pm on Tuesday.

The climbers included Vladimir Kotlyar of Russia and Alexander Bachmann of Germany, and Sherpa mountaineers Kami Temba Sherpa, Pasang Nurbu Sherpa, and Phurba Kusang Sherpa.

Mt. Dhaulagiri, the world’s seventh-highest mountain, is one of Nepal’s most challenging peaks due to its steep ridges and unpredictable weather conditions.

Announcing the success, 14 Peaks Expedition said, “Congratulations to our members and the incredible Sherpa team for this remarkable achievement. Their dedication, teamwork, and perseverance made this summit possible. We wish everyone a safe descent back to base camp.”

The team is now making its way down from the summit.
