Legendary climber Kami Rita Sherpa received a Lifetime Achievement Award and Chinese mountaineer He Jing was honoured as the first woman to climb all 14 peaks above 8,000 metres without supplementary oxygen, as Kathmandu played host to the Everest Summiteers Summit (ESS) 2026 over two days at The Soaltee Kathmandu.
The Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) and the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) have jointly launched the fourth Fundamental Skill Course of the Professional Mountain Guide (PMG) Training, with 40 participants set to undergo training across Kathmandu and Kanani in Nuwakot district until July 6.
