KATHMANDU: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is participating in the Nepal Pavilion at Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) Mumbai 2026, Asia’s leading travel trade show, being held at the Jio World Convention Centre from February 5 to 7.

Nepal’s presence at this year’s event is its largest to date, with 34 leading tourism companies representing the country at Stall No. P-K100. The participating firms span a wide range of sectors, including luxury resorts, heritage hotels, adventure operators, destination management companies, airlines, and MICE specialists.

OTM Mumbai is considered the gateway to India’s vast outbound travel market, drawing thousands of travel professionals, tour operators, and hospitality stakeholders from across Asia and beyond. Nepal has been a consistent participant at the event for over 25 years and has gradually evolved its positioning from a trekking-focused destination to a comprehensive tourism hub offering luxury, wellness, adventure, pilgrimage, and business tourism.

NTB stated that Nepal’s pavilion has consistently been recognised for its cultural authenticity and destination presentation, winning multiple awards over the years and remaining one of the most visited stalls at the event.

Despite recent internal movements, Nepal’s tourism sector has demonstrated strong resilience, with tourism services operating normally across the country. NTB reported a 30 per cent increase in Indian tourist arrivals in January 2026 compared to the same period last year, driven by festival tourism, pilgrimage travel, and short-haul leisure trips.

“ Our participation at OTM Mumbai 2026 with 34 companies reaffirms Nepal’s commitment to the Indian market and showcases the country as a safe, stable, and welcoming destination,” said NTB Chief Executive Officer Deepak Raj Joshi. “Nepal is fully prepared to welcome visitors with seamless services and enhanced safety measures.”

India remains Nepal’s largest source market, accounting for nearly 25–30 per cent of total international tourist arrivals annually. Improved road connectivity, frequent direct flights, and seamless digital payments through UPI-enabled platforms have further strengthened cross-border travel.

At OTM Mumbai 2026, Nepal is promoting key tourism segments tailored for Indian travellers, including pilgrimage tourism, weekend getaways, luxury and wellness retreats, adventure activities, MICE tourism, destination weddings, and honeymoon travel.

The Nepal Pavilion highlights major spiritual destinations such as Pashupatinath, Muktinath, Janaki Temple, and Lumbini, alongside premium mountain resorts, wildlife experiences in Chitwan, and adventure offerings like paragliding, rafting, heli-tours, and mountain biking.

NTB said Nepal’s participation at the event reflects the deep cultural and tourism partnership between Nepal and India and aims to further strengthen tourism ties, business collaborations, and sustainable growth in the sector.
