KATHMANDU: A five-member delegation from China, led by Chen Guanghao, Director General of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism in Chengdu, visited the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) on Wednesday as part of a three-day official visit.

During the meeting, Chen highlighted the significant potential for promoting cultural, adventure and spiritual (Buddhist) tourism between Nepal and Sichuan Province, calling for continued collaboration to deepen mutual understanding, enhance tourism exchanges, and support the sustainable growth of both countries' tourism industries.

NTB Officiating CEO Hikmat Singh Ayer said Nepal could become a popular destination for travellers from Sichuan Province given its close proximity, being just a short flight away. He also recommended organising familiarisation (FAM) tours for Chinese celebrities, media personnel and bloggers as an effective strategy to showcase Nepal's tourism offerings and boost Chinese tourist arrivals.
