NAMCHE: Olga Naumova from Bulgaria became the first female jumper to perform an aboard jump in the Everest region, according to the organizer.

The Everest Skydive, an extreme adventure event organized since 2008, commenced its 18th edition in the Everest region on November 10.

“The first day also saw a record jump by Olga Naumova who became the first female jumper to perform an aboard jump in the Everest region,” said Anuj Pandey, General manager at Everest Skydive.

This year again the event got off to a brilliant start with good weather and pleasant conditions overall. “On its inaugural day, the team managed 11 jumps with 3 loads in the Fishtail Air AS350 B3 helicopter,” Pandey said.

There will be more excitement and record jumps in the coming days as the Everest skydive 2025 catches steam with international skydivers. “This year will see 15 seasoned skydivers from countries like the USA, Russia, France, Belarus, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Romania performing daredevil jumps from high altitudes with low openings,” Pandey added.

The event will continue for the next four days with the exhilarating skydives scheduled in some of the highest drop zones in the world- the Syangboche and Ama Dablam Base Camp drop zones, according to Pandey.
