NMA begins Leave No Trace and first aid training in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) on Wednesday launched a Leave No Trace (LNT) and First Aid Training programme at its secretariat in Nagpokhari, Naxal.
The LNT training, which began today, is being conducted by Kim Young Sik of South Korea, an accredited Leave No Trace trainer, and will continue on Thursday. NMA President Fur Gelje Sherpa inaugurated the programme and encouraged participants to fully utilize the training to promote responsible mountaineering and trekking practices.
The First Aid Training is scheduled for January 23 and 24 and will be led by Dr. Giovanni Cappa, MD, President of the Italian Society of Extreme Environments Medicine, along with Dr. Paolo Rodi.
A total of 56 participants have enrolled in the programme. The NMA said participants will receive certificates upon successful completion of the training.
