Monsoon conditions prevail across Nepal, rain and snowfall likely

KATHMANDU: Nepal remains under the influence of monsoon winds, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).
Today, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy nationwide. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in many parts of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudur Pashchim provinces, as well as in the hilly regions. A few areas in the remaining provinces may also see rainfall. Heavy rain is possible at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudur Pashchim provinces. Light to moderate snowfall is expected in some high hilly and mountainous areas.
Tonight, similar conditions are expected, with continued cloud cover across the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudur Pashchim provinces. One or two locations in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudur Pashchim may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall. Snowfall is also likely at a few places in high-altitude regions.
The MFD has advised travelers and local authorities to stay alert for possible weather-related disruptions, especially in mountainous and flood-prone areas.
