Environment Minister Chaulagain lauds NTNC’s role in wildlife conservation

KATHMANDU: Minister for Forests and Environment Madhav Prasad Chaulagain on Wednesday commended the National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) for its decades-long contribution to wildlife conservation and the restoration of natural ecosystems in Nepal.

During his visit to the NTNC, the Minister acknowledged the organisation’s impact in protecting biodiversity and conserving natural heritage sites, describing its work as vital to positioning Nepal as a global leader in conservation.

On the occasion, NTNC Member Secretary Dr Naresh Subedi briefed the Minister on the trust’s frontline conservation initiatives. He highlighted NTNC’s community-based conservation models, which seek to balance nature protection with local livelihoods through active community participation.

Minister Chaulagain also expressed support for NTNC’s future conservation goals and reiterated the government’s commitment to continued collaboration with the organisation to strengthen environmental protection efforts across the country.
