KATHMANDU: A Swiss mother-daughter duo successfully reached the summit of Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812m) on Monday morning, marking an inspiring ascent during the autumn climbing season.
According to 8K Expeditions, Sara Marie Rose and her daughter Jade Marie Weibel stood together on the peak at 8:00 AM, guided by Nepali climbers Lakpa Tamang and Phurtenzi Sherpa.
The duo had earlier completed a pre-acclimatization climb of Lobuche East Peak (6,119m) on October 7 before heading toward Ama Dablam.
8K Expeditions described the achievement as a testament to “strength, trust, and quiet determination,” celebrating the climbers for their teamwork and courage.
Ama Dablam, often called the “Matterhorn of the Himalayas,” remains one of Nepal’s most photographed and technically challenging peaks, drawing climbers from around the world each season.
