Chinese climber Li scales Manaslu in 21 hrs

KATHMANDU: A 36-year-old Chinese climber successfully scaled Mt Manaslu in just less than 22 hours becoming the fastest Chinese climber to climb the world’s eighth highest peak.
 
According to Tendi Sherpa, base camp manager at Seven Summit Treks, Li Haoting from Hunan Province left the base camp at 12 noon on September 22 and reached the true summit of Mt Manaslu at 9:45am on September 23.
 
“Li Haoting completed the base camp to summit climb in just 21 hours and 45 minutes,” he said. Li Haoting said that he became the fastest Chinese climber to scale Manaslu this season.
 
Li along with Efraim Hingally, Jian Luo, Yuankai Zhao, Mohammadrezashahram Shahlaei, Wei Han Wu, Alasdair Scot Mckenzie and He Jing (without O2) also climbed Manaslu on September 23. 

Jamling Bhote, Pemba Tasi Sherpa, Pasang Sherpa, Pema Rinje Sherpa, Pemba Chhiring Sherpa, Phurba Sonam Sherpa, Sonam Sherpa and Sona Rinji Sherpa accompanied foreign members to the summit of Manaslu, according to Sherpa.
