A Ukrainian couple has set a new record in mountain climbing, becoming the first Ukrainian couple to scale the world’s fifth-highest mountain this spring season.
The Expedition Operators Association Nepal (EOAN) said it ferried ropes from the base camp to Camp II today, as a team of mountain guides has already reached the crampon point to fix the summit route to the top of Mt Everest and Mt Lhotse this spring season.
An eight-member team from 8K Expeditions successfully summited Mt. Makalu (8,485m) on Sunday morning, adding to what is shaping up as one of the busiest seasons on the world's fifth highest peak.
