Who will lead Nepal Tourism Board? CEO applications open

Eligible Nepali citizens with a postgraduate degree and at least 10 years of experience in tourism can apply within 10 days.

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Tourism Board has opened applications for its chief executive officer (CEO), seeking candidates with at least a decade of experience in the tourism sector as the board looks for its next executive head.

The board on Friday published a notice inviting applications for the CEO position. Eligible candidates must be Nepali citizens, hold at least a postgraduate degree from a recognised educational institution and have at least 10 years of experience in the tourism sector.

Applicants must submit their applications within 10 days from the date of publication of the notice. If the final day falls on a public holiday, applications can be submitted during office hours on the next working day.

Candidates are also required to submit a strategic action plan of up to 3,000 words outlining measures to improve the effectiveness of the Tourism Board. They must also provide a report of up to 1,000 words detailing significant achievements they made through their own efforts while working at previous organisations or institutions.

The application requires a Rs 15,000 fee, to be deposited in the Nepal Tourism Board account at Nabil Bank's Teendhara branch, with the bank voucher submitted along with the application.

Applications can be submitted to the CEO Secretariat at the Nepal Tourism Board office in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, or by email to hr@ntb.org.np with the required documents attached.

The board said candidates applying by email must provide the bank voucher and certified copies of documents at the time of presentation.

The notice also requires applicants to submit a self-declaration prescribed under the Nepal Tourism Board, Procedure for Selection and Recommendation for Appointment of Chief Executive Officer, 2083. The procedure is available on the board's website.

The board said information on various stages of the selection process will be published on its website.
