Thailand positions Nepal as key growth market at Kathmandu trade event

KATHMANDU: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), New Delhi, hosted an Amazing Thailand Product Presentation for Nepal's travel trade in Kathmandu on June 2, bringing together travel agents for an update on Thailand's latest tourism offerings, emerging destinations, and incentive programmes.
The event, held at Aloft Hotel, was opened by TAT New Delhi Director Khajornrit Khwanmongkol, who described Nepal as a strong and promising market for Thailand tourism, noting that improved airline connectivity had significantly expanded demand from the region. He also unveiled TAT's new marketing campaign, "Healing is a New Luxury."
Thailand's Ambassador to Nepal, Donnawit Poolsawat, delivered opening remarks encouraging travel partners to work closely with the embassy to facilitate traveller movement between the two countries.
Marketing Officer Vaishali Sharma presented Thailand's product highlights for Nepal travellers, spotlighting Khao Yai, Kanchanaburi, Khao Lak, Koh Lanta, and Koh Lipe as prime leisure and relaxation destinations. She also promoted adventure activities including skydiving and hot air balloon rides in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, as well as wellness tourism offerings in Krabi and Hua Hin.
Marketing Officer Aso Lori outlined collaboration opportunities through TAT's marketing campaigns and incentive programmes aimed at growing Thailand-bound traffic from Nepal.
