TAAN, Map House launch pictorial guide covering all three faces of Everest

KATHMANDU: The Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN), Map House, and Concept Nepal jointly launched a new pictorial guidebook and trekking map, The Three Faces of Everest, at a function held at the TAAN Secretariat in Maligaon, Kathmandu on April 8.
Authored by Dutch climbing expert Bart Jordans and published by Map House, Kathmandu, the book and accompanying map present the key features of all three faces of Everest — South, North, and East — in a single comprehensive work, making it the first publication to cover all three approaches together.
The book and map were jointly unveiled by TAAN President Sagar Pandey, author Bart Jordans, publisher Pawan Shakya, and TAAN General Secretary Sonam G. Sherpa. Also present at the launch were TAAN Executive Committee Member Rajendra Amgain, MoGAN President Sanjib Gurung, NITWOG President Ram K. Tiwari, and tourism professionals and media representatives from Nepal and China.
TAAN said the publication would serve as a valuable resource for trekking and expedition agencies planning routes to base camps and peaks from all three faces of the mountain.
