KATHMANDU: The Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) has issued detailed guidance for trekking and travel operators transporting international visitors to and from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) during the current security restrictions.
According to TAAN, agencies must follow these steps when picking up guests at the airport:
Carry copies of the guest’s passport and air ticket along with the representative’s own ID.
Use only green-plate (tourist) vehicles.
For dropping guests at TIA, the requirements are stricter:
Carry the original passport and confirmed air ticket of each guest, as well as the representative’s own ID.
Travel only in green-plate vehicles.
TAAN added that operators needing an official support letter for smooth movement through checkpoints should email info@taan.org.np or send details via WhatsApp at 9843687548.
Required information for the TAAN letter includes:
Flight details – date, airline, flight number, and arrival/departure times.
Visitor details – names, nationalities, and number of travelers.
Agency details – name, representative, and contact information.
TAAN emphasized that these measures are aimed at safeguarding tourists and facilitating smooth airport transfers during the ongoing curfew and heightened security situation.
