Partnership aims to strengthen Nepal’s global branding through fairs, digital campaigns, FAM trips, and coordinated publicity efforts.
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly promote Nepal’s tourism in international markets, marking a major step toward more coordinated and impactful global outreach.
The agreement, signed on Tuesday, outlines extensive collaboration in global tourism fairs, digital marketing, familiarization (FAM) trips, roadshows, joint publicity, mega events, and branding activities. Under the MoU, NTB will extend Nepal Airlines complimentary participation as a “Partner Airline” in all international promotional programs, including travel fairs, sales missions, press meets, and FAM trips.
In return, NAC will provide up to 100 kg of free cargo space for promotional materials on its flight routes, gift tickets for joint events, and discounted fares for promotional purposes. Both institutions will also collaborate on bringing international journalists, influencers, bloggers, tour operators, and celebrities to Nepal to strengthen the country’s global image.
The partnership includes integrated digital advertising, promotional videos, joint branding, website link support, and the production of hoarding boards, brochures, posters, and other cultural promotional materials. NTB and NAC will further coordinate for Nepal’s national day celebrations abroad, participation in trade events, and hosting mega events in Nepal involving international artists and public figures, with NAC offering concessionary tickets.
The two organizations will prepare joint progress reports every six months to assess the effectiveness of the activities carried out under the MoU.
NTB Chief Executive Officer Deepak Raj Joshi hailed the collaboration as a historic milestone for Nepal’s tourism diplomacy. “Nepal Airlines is our national pride, and tourism is its core driver,” he said, adding that integrated promotion “from airport to destination” would strengthen the visibility and impact of the Nepal brand worldwide.
He noted that the long-term partnership—spanning FAM trips, digital campaigns, international fairs, and mega events—would help elevate Nepal’s tourism sector to new heights.
