Tourism, advertising, and consumer brands urged to collaborate for a holistic ‘Brand Nepal’
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) on Thursday convened a panel session under its “Brands and Beyond” series, exploring how tourism can work hand in hand with other industries to strengthen Nepal’s image on the global stage.
Titled “Building a Stronger Partnership”, the session was moderated by advertising expert Ujaya Shakya and featured Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of NTB, Laxman Humagain, Chairman of the Advertisement Board of Nepal, and Varsha Parera, Chief Marketing Officer of Nepal Distilleries Pvt. Ltd.
Addressing the session, Mr. Joshi said Nepal’s identity in the global arena should not be limited to its tourism icons. “Tourism is central, but Nepal’s brand is equally defined by our mountaineering heritage, our growing presence in international sports, music festivals, and contemporary culinary culture,” he stated.
He further noted that creating a compelling brand narrative requires synergy between public and private stakeholders. “When tourism, creative industries, and consumer, they collectively enhance the country’s visibility, trust, and emotional connection with both domestic and international audiences."
