KATHMANDU: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) participated in the Travel & Adventure Show New York held on January 24–25, 2026, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, promoting the country's diverse tourism attractions to the American market.

The United States is Nepal's second-largest source market for tourists, with 112,316 arrivals recorded in 2025.

Organized in partnership with the Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN), the event featured six Nepalese tourism companies: Asian Heritage Treks & Travels Pvt. Ltd., Explore Vacation Pvt. Ltd., Friends Adventure Team Trekking & Mountaineering Pvt. Ltd., Himalayan Glacier Adventure & Travel Company Pvt. Ltd., Nepal Vision Treks & Expeditions Pvt. Ltd., and Touch Kailash Travels & Tours Pvt. Ltd.

The two-day event aimed to strengthen Destination Nepal's presence in the US market, forge business partnerships with key American travel trade players, and inspire travelers to experience Nepal's diversity.

Being an adventure-focused event, visitors demonstrated keen interest in Nepal's adventure products and activities, especially mountaineering and trekking.

Dadhi Ram Bhandari, Consul General of the Office of the Consulate General of Nepal in New York, visited the Nepal pavilion on the first day and interacted with participating companies.

Discussions centered on areas of cooperation for Nepal promotion, particularly in East Coast states. NTB officials Udaya Bhatarai and Pradip Basnet represented the organization at the event.

The participation is expected to enhance Nepal's visibility as a premier adventure tourism destination among American travelers and travel trade professionals.
