KATHMANDU: Nepal has been named one of the world’s top 10 solo adventure travel destinations for summer 2025 by UK-based adventure travel company Much Better Adventures.
Ranked seventh globally, Nepal earned praise for its dramatic Himalayan landscapes, affordability, and range of adventure activities. The guide highlights popular experiences like the Everest Base Camp trek, jungle rafting in Chitwan, and treks in the Annapurna region, noting that average meal costs start as low as £1.40 (approx. Rs 240), making it ideal for budget-conscious solo travellers.
Kirsty Holmes, a content manager at the company who recently explored Nepal solo, called it a “welcoming and diverse nation,” where the presence of local guides enhances safety and cultural immersion, especially in national parks.
The ranking is based on expert insights and customer data, evaluating destinations on safety, sustainability, accessibility, and popularity. “Nepal offers solo travellers breathtaking scenery, deep-rooted spirituality, and warm hospitality, from bustling Kathmandu to peaceful teahouses in the Himalayas,” said Sam Bruce, Co-Founder of Much Better Adventures.
The list includes Italy, Japan, Norway, Spain, Albania, Portugal, Nepal, Montenegro,, Jordan, and Greece.
As global solo travel continues to grow, Nepal’s inclusion reinforces its position as a top adventure destination for independent-minded travellers seeking meaningful, guided experiences.
