KATHMANDU: Nepal is showcasing its tourism destinations, culture and hospitality at the PATA Travel Mart (PTM) 2026 in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, with a 17-member delegation representing 10 Nepali tourism companies.
The delegation, coordinated by the PATA Nepal Chapter, is participating in the three-day travel trade event being held from August 18 to 20, seeking business partnerships and opportunities to promote Nepal in international markets.
The first day of the event featured registration and accreditation, the opening of the Nepal Pavilion and participation in the PATA Knowledge Forum. Nepal's delegation also attended the PATA Gold Awards programme.
The Nepal Pavilion provided a platform for participating companies to connect with international travel trade representatives and promote Nepal's tourism products and destinations. Business-to-business (B2B) meetings are scheduled as a key component of the event, allowing Nepali tourism businesses to establish contacts with international buyers and explore potential partnerships.
PATA Nepal Chapter said the participation aims to strengthen Nepal's presence in the international travel market and create new business opportunities by connecting Nepali tourism companies with delegates from across the world.
The chapter described the first day as productive, with exhibitors engaging with international delegates and promoting Nepal's Himalayan landscapes, culture and hospitality.
The PATA Travel Mart is a major international travel trade event that brings together tourism sellers and buyers for business networking, meetings and market development.
