KATHMANDU: The Langtang and Manaslu Larke Pass trekking routes are accessible, but the Tsum Valley trek remains closed following recent flood damage, according to the Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN).

In a safety advisory issued on Thursday, TAAN said the Langtang, Kyanjin and Gosaikunda areas were safe and open for trekking. The installation of a Bailey bridge at Betrawati has restored access, allowing trekkers to reach Dhunche or Thulo Syabru via Trishuli and Betrawati. An alternative route through Helambu and Gosaikunda is also available.

The Manaslu Larke Pass trek has partially reopened after the October 11 Budhi Gandaki flood damaged access roads, trails, bridges and teahouses. Vehicles can reach Machhakhola, from where trekkers can proceed towards Jagat, Nyak Phedi and Larke Pass. A 10-minute alternative trail has been established at Yaru Bagar to bypass a severely damaged section. TAAN has advised trekkers to proceed with caution.

The Tsum Valley trek remains closed after a cantilever bridge collapsed. TAAN expects the route to reopen in about a week, depending on repair work.

The advisory provides updated access information for trekkers planning trips to the two regions.
