POKHARA: The Centara Collection today announced the grand opening of the Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara, marking the debut of the first Thai luxury hotel brand in Nepal's renowned lake city. Perched in the serene hills of Kaskikot, the resort redefines the mountain escape with a unique fusion of Thai-inspired hospitality and Nepalese cultural charm.

Elevated just 35 minutes above Pokhara, the resort commands breathtaking, panoramic vistas of the Annapurna range and the iconic Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) peak. It is designed as a sanctuary for those seeking both adventure and profound relaxation, said Robert Kee, Philanthropist and Chairman of the Himalayan Hideaway Resort, during the grand opening ceremony.

Chairman Kee, who has visited Nepal almost every year since 2000 for philanthropic work, added that the resort will create significant local employment. “Our initiatives will certainly attract high-end international travelers to the country,” he stated.

“We are thrilled to bring The Centara Collection’s signature experience to Pokhara, a destination of extraordinary beauty,” said Michael Henssler, Chief Operating Officer of Centara Hotels and Resorts.

General Manager Prapaijit Thongma said, “Our vision is to reveal a different side of Pokhara—one that moves beyond the lakeside to offer a refined, experiential luxury rooted in seamless Nepalese-Thai hospitality.”

Gandaki Province Chief of the Nepal Tourism Board, Mani Raj Lamichhane, noted that the world-class luxury resort in Kaskikot will help promote the region in the global tourism market.

The property features 42 spacious accommodations, including rooms, suites, and villas. According to Thongma, each is appointed with warm wooden interiors, private gardens or balconies, and skylights, creating a serene, nature-immersed environment for couples, families, and small groups.

Guests can embark on curated journeys, from guided village walks along the scenic Sarangkot Loop Trail to yoga and wellness rituals at the resort’s Cense by SPA Cenvaree. Dining venues celebrate local and Pan-Asian flavors, featuring an all-day restaurant, a specialty Asian eatery, a bar and lounge, and a picturesque tea house. Additional facilities include an outdoor swimming pool and a fully equipped fitness centre.

The resort operates with a strong social enterprise ethos, prioritizing community engagement and local economic empowerment through hiring, sourcing, and sustained investment in the region, Thongma added.

To celebrate its launch, the resort is introducing an exclusive “Stay 3, Pay 2” package with added privileges, available for a limited time. The Centara Collection represents a curated portfolio of distinctive properties that offer unique experiences, authentic character, and heartfelt service, reflecting the best of their destinations.
