HAN engages with World Bank Group on boosting hotel sector investment

Interaction focuses on policy reforms, sustainable growth, and private sector competitiveness in Nepal’s hospitality industry
KATHMANDU: The Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) held an interaction with the World Bank Group’s Country Private Sector Diagnostic Study (CPDS) team in Kathmandu on Thursday to discuss investment prospects, policy reforms, and strategies for the sustainable growth of Nepal’s hotel and tourism sector.
During the meeting, HAN President Binayak Shah highlighted key issues related to attracting investment, strengthening policy frameworks, and promoting green and sustainable practices to enhance Nepal’s hospitality industry.
Office bearers, executive committee members, and the association’s legal advisor also shared insights and experiences on challenges facing the hotel industry, emphasizing the need for effective interventions to fully harness tourism’s potential for national development.
Both sides exchanged views on addressing sectoral bottlenecks and creating a competitive and investment-friendly environment for hotel and tourism development in Nepal.
Reiterating its long-standing commitment, HAN called for favorable investment policies, simplified regulatory procedures, and the adoption of sustainable and eco-friendly practices to ensure the industry’s long-term growth and resilience.
