9th South Asian Travel Awards set for Colombo this September

Prestigious regional event returns to Sri Lanka after nearly a decade

KATHMANDU: The 9th edition of the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) is set to take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from September 19 to 20, 2025, marking a significant return of the event to the island nation.

Celebrating excellence in travel and hospitality across the region, SATA 2025 has attracted over 200 nominations from six South Asian countries, covering a wide range of tourism categories including hotels, resorts, and service providers.

Since its launch, SATA has been hosted in notable cities across South Asia, including Mount Lavinia, Galle, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Addu City, Kathmandu, and Malé Atoll. This year's edition will once again bring together key industry stakeholders, government officials, and tourism professionals for its grand Gala Ceremony in Colombo.

SATA is endorsed by more than 18 tourism organizations and boards, including the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO), and The Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL).

With its growing regional significance, the awards continue to foster innovation, service excellence, and cross-border tourism collaboration across South Asia.
