U.S. Soybean Export Council realigns structure to boost collaboration and market trust across emerging economies
KATHMANDU: The U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) has unveiled a new regional structure designed to expand collaboration and sustainable agricultural partnerships across global markets, including South Asia and the Middle East.
Under the updated model, Kevin Roepke has been named Executive Director for the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia (MENASA), a region that includes Nepal and neighboring economies with growing demand for food security and feed sustainability. Roepke brings more than 20 years of experience in international agriculture, with a strong background in developing and emerging markets. Most recently, Roepke served as the Regional Director for South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa at USSEC. Prior to joining USSEC, he served as the Regional Director for the U.S. Grains Council.
“It’s an honor to step into this role,” said Roepke. “We aim to connect America’s soybean farmers to the global market and build trust through sustainable practices that strengthen economic and nutritional resilience worldwide.”
According to USSEC CEO Jim Sutter, the restructuring enhances global coordination and helps deliver “trusted, impactful programs” that benefit both producers and consumers. "We are confident that Kevin will provide strong leadership across MENA and South Asia and look forward to the impact he will make in advancing U.S. Soy’s presence and partnerships in the region,” Sutter added.
USSEC, active in over 90 countries, works closely with governments, agribusinesses, and development agencies to promote sustainable sourcing and strengthen international trade ties through agriculture — a key element of tourism, investment, and food security cooperation in the region.
