Summit Force international team gears up for summit push tonight

KATHMANDU: A team of international climbers along with Nepali climbing guides from Summit Force Pvt Ltd is all set to begin its final summit push on Mt Everest tonight on May 20.

According to chairman at Summit Force Ngaa Tenji Sherpa, a team of 28 climbers from his company will begin summit push tonight as they are all set to stand atop the roof of the world.

The team is led by company co-owner and renowned climber Halung Dorchi Sherpa, said Ngaa Tenji, who is coordinating ground handling for the international Everest expedition this season.

“All 11 members and 17 Nepali climbing guides are well acclimatized and prepared for a safe climb,” Ngaa Tenji added.

As reported by base camp manager Mils Dawa Sherpa, all team members are already at South Col to launch their final summit push, he added.

The members of the Summit Force expedition include Yu Xiao, Jiang Qingyan, Gao Changjian, Liu Xinpeng, Niu Zhibin, Zhou Liang, Pan Haoran and Xia Lei, all from China. “Maria Kinash, a woman climber from Moldova, 23-year old Xavier Ladouceur from Canada and Nepali climber Preeti Agrawal Rateria are also attempting to scale Everest as exposition member,” Ngaa Tenji added.

Along with members, Lakpa Nurbu Sherpa, Pem Norbu Sherpa, Pasang Sherpa, Nyima Thinduk Sherpa, Pemba Gyalzen Sherpa, Renji Owngel Sherpa, Pastemba Sherpa, Pasang Sherpa, Ngima Thinduk Sherpa, Puran Lopchan, Mingma Rinjin Sherpa, Dawa Nurbu Sherpa, Dawa Tenjin Sherpa, Lakpa Nurbu Sherpa, Tashi Sherpa and Lakpa Dorchi Sherpa are also attempting to climb the world’s highest peak, he informed.

“We are a very strong team and all climbing guides are well experienced,” he added.
