Purnima Shrestha scales Mt Everest for sixth time as 22 from Satori Adventures reach summit

KATHMANDU: Record holding Nepali woman mountaineer among 22 climbers from Satori Adventures today scaled My Everest, said expedition organiser.

According to Rishi Ram Bhandari, managing director at Satori Adventures, eight international clients and 14 Nepali climbers from his company stood atop the roof of the world.

Among them, Photojournalist Purnima Shrestha who made history by becoming the first woman to summit Mt. Everest three times in a single season in 2024, also scaled Mt Everest for the sixth time, Bhandari shared.

According to him, the climbers who scaled Mt Everest include Nicholas Ellul of Malta, with team members,  Olena Karlova of Ukraine, Magdalena Kowari of Poland, Mariusz Mlynarczyk of Poland, Rafal Janusz Skrzypiec of Poland, Sandra Maria Wieliczko of Luxembourg, Ngo Hai Son of Vietnam, and Thi Thanh Binh of Vietnam. 

The Nepali climbers were Ongdak Sherpa, Pasang Nurbu Sherpa, Dawa Nurbu Sherpa, Pasang Gyaljen Sherpa, Pema Sherpa, Purnima Shrestha, Lankaram Tamang, Pasang Sherpa, Phurtenji Sherpa, Nima Sherpa, Lakpa Tasi Sherpa, Furte Sherpa, Thuktang Sherpa, and Lakpa Sherpa.

All climbers are descending safely to lower camps, Bhandari added
