KATHMANDU: The Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has announced that it will organize the Summer Skill for Professional Mountain Guide Course–2025 from August 14 to September 16, 2025, based on the newly approved curriculum of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT).
The program, conducted in collaboration with the Sustainable Tourism Project—a joint initiative of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)—and in coordination with Api Himal Rural Municipality, aims to prepare aspiring professional mountain guides for future mountaineering activities.
The training, equivalent to the Basic Mountaineering Course previously run by the NMA, will be held in Kathmandu and on Lhayul Peak in Api Himal Rural Municipality, Darchula.
According to the NMA, the course fee is set at NPR 25,000 per participant, with a maximum intake of 28 trainees. Required documents for registration include a citizenship photocopy, a certificate of the Fundamental Skill for Mountaineering course, recommendation letters from NMA resource members, a medical report, and two passport-size photographs.
Applications must be submitted to the NMA Secretariat by August 12, 2025, before 5:00 PM. Registration forms are available for Rs. 100.
An interview for shortlisted candidates will be held on August 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the NMA’s Nepal Mountaineering Training Institute, Nagpokhari, Naxal.
