KATHMANDU: Two Kazakh climbers, Vadim Gaidarenko and Vitaliy Tevossov, successfully summited Island Peak (6,165m) via the Chola Pass route, as part of an expedition organized by 8K Expeditions.
According to the Lakpa Sherpa, Managing Director at the 8K Expeditions, the ascent was guided and supported by Nepali climbers Lakpa Sherpa and Pemtenji Sherpa, marking another safe and successful climb for the team this season.
Following their achievement on Island Peak, the climbers are now set to continue their expedition toward Mt Ama Dablam (6,812m) in the Khumbu region.
