Four Russian climbers and four Nepali Sherpas reach the 6,812m summit with 14 Peaks Expedition

KATHMANDU: A team of climbers from 14 Peaks Expedition successfully reached the summit of Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812m) on Sunday morning, achieving what the outfitter described as a “phenomenal achievement” under excellent weather conditions.

The summitters included Russian climbers Dmitry Baykovskiy, Aleksandr Smirnov, Evgeny Kolesov, and Pavel Potapov; and Sherpas, Pasang Sherpa, Mingma Thinduk Sherpa, Dorchi Sherpa, and Phurbu Kusang Sherpa.

Ama Dablam, often called the “Matterhorn of the Himalayas,” is renowned for its striking beauty and technical challenges. 

The expedition organizer extended congratulations to all members and wished the team a safe descent to base camp following their successful summit.
