KATHMANDU: A five-member team from AltiPro Adventures reached the summit of Annapurna I (8,091m) on Saturday, April 18, adding to what is shaping up to be an active spring season on one of the world's most challenging eight-thousanders.
The summit team comprised Van Khai Nguyen, Manisha Rishi Gaind, Mingma Dorchi Sherpa (Saila), Lakpa Temba Sherpa and Karma Gyaljen Sherpa.
The team battled fierce winds and demanding terrain on the final push to the top, the expedition organiser said.
Friday's ascent is among multiple successful summits recorded on Annapurna this spring, with Seven Summit Treks having also placed a team on top earlier the same day in what was the season's first ascent of the peak.
