34 SST climbers scale Mount Manaslu

KATHMANDU: The world’s eighth highest mountain today recorded more summits as world climbers continued their summit push on Mt Manaslu.

According to Chhang Dawa Sherpa, Expedition Director at Seven Summit Treks, a total of 17 foreign members and 17 climbing guides from SST stood on the top of Manaslu this morning.

Lois Toh Shu Hui, Jakob Scott Soldan, Angelina Angelova, Ryan Frank Ron Appleton, Anar Burasheva, Anar Burasheva, Kristoffer Aasen Solem, Anastasiia Sharapova, Anastasiia Sharapova, Bohdan Kozar, Arthur Richard Kudelka, Paula Birgitta Strengell, Corentin Titouan Hanni, Yin-Kuei Hsu, Shengtao Li, Ma Xiao, Qifeng Hou, Yi Miao and Lu Zhang scaled the 8,163-metre mountain.

Among the forign climbers Yin-Kuei Hsu climbed Mt Manaslu without using supplemental oxygen, Sherpa said. “Rinje Sherpa, Lakpa Sange Sherpa, Ridar Lama Bhote, Pasang Bhote, Pasang Tenje Sherpa, Lakpa Bhote, Thomas Bhote, Chhangwa Sherpa, Ngima Ongda Sherpa, Rinjin Bhote, Dukchung Lama, Anish Tamang, Nurbu Sherpa, Dawa Rinje Sherpa, Karma Gyalje Sherpa, Phursang Sherpa and Pemba Thinduk Sherpa from the Seven Summit Treks also reached the true summit of Mt Manaslu, added Sherpa.

“The team is now descending safely,” he informed.
