KATHMANDU: A helicopter operated by Mustang Helicopters Pvt. Ltd. that had gone out of contact in Lapchi of Dolakha district on Friday afternoon has been found safe, authorities confirmed later.
The helicopter, identified as 9N-ANO, had lost communication around 1:30 pm after departing Kathmandu, carrying Captain Suraj Thapa and four passengers.
Initial reports had suggested a possible emergency landing due to adverse weather conditions. Authorities later confirmed that the aircraft made a safe landing.
Security personnel, including teams from the Nepali Army, had been mobilised amid concerns over its status, as continuous rainfall and difficult terrain had hampered access to the area.
Officials said all those on board are safe. The helicopter was reportedly transporting materials and personnel related to a hydropower project.
