Airlines to offer discounts for senior citizens and persons with disabilities

KATHMANDU: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has announced new airfare discounts for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, effective immediately.
A meeting held today afternoon at CAAN’s central office, chaired by the Director General and attended by representatives of the Airline Operators Association of Nepal and domestic airline companies, reached the following agreements:
Senior citizens aged 70 years and above will receive a 50 percent discount on airfares across all domestic sectors, based on the maximum fare set by the Government of Nepal.
Passengers aged 75 years and above will be entitled to a 70 percent discount.
Passengers aged 80 years and above will receive an 80 percent discount.
persons with disabilities regardless of the age group will also be granted a minimum 50 percent discount on domestic flights.
CAAN has directed all domestic airlines to implement these provisions effective immediately from today.
