Air Dynasty helicopter crashes in Khotang; One injured

KATHMANDU: An Air Dynasty Heli Services helicopter crashed in Belabeshi, Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality-2 of Khotang on Wednesday morning, injuring one passenger. The helicopter was carrying six people onboard including a crew member.
The helicopter, registration 9N-AFQ, was on a scheduled flight from Kathmandu to Khotang when it hit a hillside while attempting to land and overturned. The incident occurred at approximately 11:51 am.
The aircraft was piloted by Captain Sabin Thapa, 34, a seven-year veteran with 1,105 total flying hours. All five passengers and the crew member onboard were confirmed safe, with no casualties reported among them, according to Balkrishna Pandit Spokesperson for Air Dynasty.
The sole injured person is Kaji Bahadur Rai, 74, who sustained minor injuries to his leg and eye. Rai has since been airlifted to HAMS Hospital in Kathmandu for treatment. Spokesperson Pandit confirmed that trained personnel have been deployed to provide support and assistance to the passenger's family.
The company said it is working in coordination with the relevant authorities to determine the cause of the crash and has requested that media respect the privacy of those involved.
